Facebook is the largest social network in the world, with over 500 million users, so if you haven’t figured out how to harness this show pony for all its potential,what’s stopping you? A Facebook fan page is essential for business owners of any size (that means you, writers and bloggers) looking to expand their presence and reach their audience. Just read Mashable’s The 5 Elements of a Successful Facebook Fan Page or webdistortions’s 7 Examples to Rock Your Facebook Fan Page. (Believe it or not, the fan page for Skittles is considered one of the best there is, with over 12 million fans, and they use the same easy resources to build it as those available to you. Check it out to see what’s possible for your own page.) In short, Facebook fan pages act as interactive business cards and go light years toward connecting you with the people who will put money in your pocket. Because, make no mistake, your competitors are figuring this out — you need to now, too. Baby needs new shoes an all that.

This 2-hour, hands-on class will teach you how to build a Facebook fan page (and not just any fan page, but a killer fan page) AND ALSO cover the basics of  “static FBML code.”

What is static FBML code, you ask?

FBML application (or “FBML static”) stands for “Facebook Markup Language,” an application developed by Facebook that allows users to enhance the customization of their fan pages. Static FBML makes it easier for you to market your stuff on Facebook. It sounds intimidating, but believe me, it’s easy to learn if you can find someone to teach you,especially if that someone is a social-media nerd with a backround in graphic art and a sense of humor (see instructor bio). In short, this Atlanta workshop will teach you how to add FBML and build a fan page that will grow your business with a killer Facebook presence.

  • The basics of a professional Facebook page
  • How to set up your own Facebook page (in case you don’t already have one)
  • Best practices for marketing through Facebook and how to measure its success

  • How to create custom landing pages
  • How to take advantage of the awesome ”graphics creations” for your fan page enabled by FBML language

A self-professed closeted techno-nerd, she is also single mom with a penchant for snark and profanity – qualities that have traditionally translated to huge popularity on the internet. You may know her as the author of the hilarious and wildly popular blog, DateWrecks.com, where she mocked the most wretched refuse of internet romance. This became the launch pad for her brilliant personal blog, FreakBacon.com, where she presently over-shares about dating, bitches about people (but not you) and tells stories about her life. She is an experienced FBML code dork and social-media maven likely because she has ADHD and remains un-medicated. She likes good whiskey, men and making fun of people (but not you) (okay maybe you) (probably).
